Catering in Scotland provides a preview of Britain's biggest restaurant exhibition…

The Restaurant Show moved to Earls Court 2 in last year to reflect the increasing demand from exhibitors and an organic rise in visitor figures. The central London location and comprehensive infrastructure make it the ideal venue for restaurants and associated industries.

Highlights for 2008 include:

The Stage, where 20 of the world's greatest chefs and sommeliers will demonstrate their skills and take part in interviews and discussions with industry experts.

Issues of sustainable eco-restaurants, food & drink matching and the latest restaurant trends will also be examined, and the show will also host two on-site restaurants, including Pascal Proyart's One-O-One and Cyrus Todiwala's Café Spice Namasté'.

Other show features include:

Central Food & Drink Market: Your chance to source unique and value-adding ingredients for your menu.

The Competition Theatre: Host to some of the industry's leading competitions including Compass Group Chef of the Year and the World Chocolate Masters. Additionally, the live final of the KNORR National Chef of the Year 2008 will take place at The Restaurant Show. The biennial competition is one of the most respected culinary challenges in the industry, acknowledging and rewarding the best of today's chef talent.

The Food and Drink Match: Interesting combinations from beer and chocolate to oysters and wine will be matched by experts including Sommelier of the Year, Georoid Devaney, and Tate's Head Sommelier, Hamish Anderson.

The Icon Bar sponsored by Matthew Clark: A great place to enjoy a few cocktails while watching demonstrations, food & wine and food & beer matching.
