Unilever Foodsolutions UK Appoints New MD

Unilever Foodsolutions (UFS) UK has appointed Tracey Rogers as Managing Director. Tracey, previously Chairman of Unilever Central Europe, has been with the company for 17 years and will take over from Simon Marshall who is moving to North America as Vice President of the UFS.

FSA Encourage UK High Street Chains to Offer Healthier Options

The Food Standards Agency announced today that some of the UK's biggest restaurant chains including PizzaExpress, Pizza Hut and Domino's, have agreed provide a range of healthier options on their menus.

Some of the measures announced by the FSA involve salt-reduction, providing nutritional data for recipes, making children's menus healthier and working with suppliers to lower saturated fat in particular ingredients.

Marcliffe Hotel Receives Planning Approval

Aberdeen City Council has granted permission for a ?40 million expansion of the five-star Marcliffe Hotel and Spa at Pitfodels, on the outskirts of the city.

Designed by Archial Architects, the extensions include 228 new bedrooms, a reception, function area, lounge, leisure and spa accommodation, as well as a multi-level underground space car park. Work is due to start on site later this year with completion scheduled for 2011.

Sodexo Attains 3rd Place in World Outsourcing Rankings

Sodexo has been ranked third among the world's leading outsourcing companies by industry trade group the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP).

It is the fourth consecutive year that the company has been ranked in the top five of the Global Outsourcing 100.

In making the classification, IAOP evaluates outsourcing companies throughout the world based on a series of criteria including revenue growth, outsourcing experience, global presence, workforce skills and training, technical and business certifications (such as ISO 9001), the track record of the management team and the quality of its customer services.
