The finalists of the KNORR Scottish Chef of the Year 2009 culinary competition have been announced.

The competition provides recognition to emerging catering talent in Scotland. Members of the Scottish Culinary Championships' panel will judge each competitor's submission of a balanced, four-course menu using seasonal Scottish produce for a party of four covers.

The 10 successful candidates competing in the final at ScotHot 2009 (2-4 March, SECC, Glasgow) are:

Entries and nominations are now open for the CIS Excellence Awards 2009, in association with Caterer.com.

Open to all types of established and emerging businesses and individuals involved in these sectors, the CIS Excellence Awards are positioned as the industry's ultimate accolade.
